LEARN HOW TO APPLY TECHNIQUES WITH OMNI MASSAGE ROLLER
Sports Massage - Used to drain fatigue, relieve swelling, reduce muscle tension, promote flexibility, prevent and help heal injuries. Also used as a warm-up and cool down in conjunction with a workout or sports event. *See Deep tissue and Swedish definitions.
Stroke - Moderate pressure usually with vigorous motion, back and forth or circular. Between Swedish and Deep tissue.
Swedish Massage - Known as 'Traditional' massage. Affects nerves, muscles, glands and circulation through massaging the skin (the body’s largest organ) setting up a chain reaction producing a positive affect on all layers of the body.
Stroke- Light pressure with long gliding strokes on the skin adding in circular kneading and shaking motions.
Deep Tissue - With moderate pressure this technique is designed to reach deep portions of the muscles, specifically the individual muscle fibers. Its purpose is to 'un-stick' the fibers of the muscles and release both toxins and deeply held patterns of tension. *Never use over boney structure i.e., directly on the spinal column.
Stroke - Using deep compression and friction along the grain of the muscle. Pressure Points/Trigger Point Therapy - An acute form of deep tissue massage that is applied to individual muscles. It is used to increase blood flow, reduce pain and release pressure on nerves and muscle caused by chronic or injured tissue. It helps to release intense knots of muscle pain and tension.
Stroke - Hold direct pressure on knot for 3-10 seconds. Reflexology - A massage technique used for the hands and feet coordinating with all the energy meridians in the body. Helps to stimulate natural energy, helps to clear out congestion and restore normal functioning and heath.
Stroke - Using a back and forth or static pressure use the tool on the base of the foot and the palm of the hand.
